City Chic, Pint of your finest
Blues Cafe Bar
As you might expect, this bar is bouncing most week nights and weekend with live music. It has a lovely location overlooking Montpellier Gardens in Harrogate and its bright blue exterior is easy to spot. Going for more than 20 years, it's still incredibly popular and has maintained its friendly, welcoming character.
Bobo Lobo
The Havana lounge in Bobos is a lively Latin American themed bar where you can watch your cocktails being made with suitable Latino flair. Find it on Little Stonegate, York, just down from Kennedy’s.
Hales Bar
Probably the oldest and most definitely the best looking pub in Harrogate, take a step back in time in this historic, gas-lit stunner of a bar. Adorned with cherry-red leather ‘old boy’s club’ seating, decorative mirrors and dark wood bars, it’s the perfect spot to try a few Yorkshire Ales - in fact it’s all too easy to lose an afternoon in here doing just that.
Harvilles Cocktail Bar
Housed in the same building as Harvilles restaurant and Oyster bar on Fossgate, York, start the evening with a bang with one of Harvilles' famous cocktails. They offer a good range of champagnes too.
Kennedys
This huge place on Little Stonegate is one of our favourite late bars in town. Always buzzing at the weekend, take your pick from 3 levels of consciously stylish interiors.
KoKo International Bar
Low beams and red walls provide a cosy setting for this intimate bar. In the shadow of York Minster on Goodramgate, it’s in a great location and true to its name there is an excellent selection of beers and wines from around the globe. Refreshingly, the passionate proprietor is more than happy to share his knowledge on both.
Old Bell Tavern
This very traditional pub is situated on the Royal Parade in Harrogate. Although the decor of this pub is old school, it's actually a refurbishment from around 2001. The site is that of an orginal 17th Century alehouse The Bell...hence the current name. Its cosy interior and good honest food served in the bar or Brassiere makes it a firm local favourite.
The Biltmore Bar & Grill
A former Pentecostal church, this glamorous hang out on Swinegate York has a champagne bar on the mezzanine level and a large loft-style bar and restaurant below. It’s stylish without trying too hard and is open til late at the weekend.
The Coach & Horses
A real local’s pub found opposite the Stray in Harrogate, just along from Weeton’s Deli. With a friendly atmosphere and good selection of real ales and whiskey, it’s another one you’ll find difficult to leave.
Vudu Lounge
Open til 3am Thurs-Sat night, if you haven’t had enough by pub closing time or your dancing feet are itchy, make your way to the Vudu lounge on Swinegate, York.
