Tucked away in a labyrinth of pathways and streets tumbling down towards the sea, Wortley Cottage is the stylish new kid on the block in Robin Hood’s Bay.  Dating back to the 17^th Century, this luxury Yorkshire cottage has been brought back to life with a contemporary but classic make-over.  We think it's one of the finest luxury cottages Robin Hood's Bay has to offer. 

Property developer and interior designer by trade, owner Karen Stephenson gave Wortley Cottage a touch of the Hamptons and created a beachy, natural feel over all three floors.  Think crisp white and blue gingham fabrics, white painted floorboards, exposed beams, tongue and groove panelling and latched doors.  This New England clapboard theme lends a real sense of light and space, with lots of seaside trinkets, paintings and French antique furniture dotted around to help you feel at home.    

The location is fantastic.  Perched on one of the most popular streets in Robin Hood’s Bay, you are just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, and the bay’s many cafes and shops.  Walkers can delight in the fact that Wainwright’s famous Coast to Coast walk starts (or finishes depending which way you look at it) just a few yards from the door.   Whitby and all of North Yorkshire’s other pretty seaside villages are within easy driving distance. 

Dress for dinner...

This luxury Yorkshire cottage in Robin Hood's Bay is let on a self-catering basis however there are a number of excellent cafes and restaurants in the bay itself.  Find lots more in Whitby, around five minutes drive away, including the fantastic seafood restaurant Greens.  There are several more gastro gems dotted around this area; our concierge will be happy to recommend and book you in.

Time for bed...

There are three generous double bedrooms in the cottage, with the master bedroom enjoying a pebble floored en-suite shower room.  The second and third bedrooms share a large family bathroom complete with roll top bath and candle-filled fireplace.  The third bedroom enjoys a generous space in the loft and has 2 twin beds.

Each bedroom is kitted out with sumptuous French bed linen, duck feather bedding and soft fluffy robes to sink into each evening.  Wake up each morning to the beautiful sound of the sea and the seagulls calling high overhead...
