Nestling in a secluded spot of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, just outside the charming town of Richmond, Natural Retreats stunning luxury lodges provide a unique alternative to the traditional hotel.  Capturing the luxury of space and freedom, the award winning design includes huge floor to ceiling windows and a bright airy living space, allowing you to completely immerse yourself in the fabulous Dales landscape beyond. 

Inside you’ll find a large open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area with warm wooden flooring, muted tones and sumptuous furnishings.  All of the fixtures and fittings have been carefully selected to echo the theme of understated indulgence throughout.  For those cosy nights in all of the properties include a log fire, large flat screen TV, DVD & CD Player.

The decked area outside comes equipped with tables and chairs, perfect for a lazy al fresco lunch over a nice bottle of Rose...If you feel like something a little more active, as you would expect from this location you are spoilt for choice.  The famous Coast to Coast walk is a few minutes from your front door; Richmond is just a mile so along this route – an easy afternoon stroll for a wander around this lovely town.  Strike out in the opposite direction for a ramble within the National Park itself.  Biking, horse-riding and fishing are all available nearby too. 

For the environmentally conscious amongst us, you can stay guilt free with the luxury Yorkshire lodges impeccable green credentials.  Having attained zero carbon status, other impressive features include timber frames made from sustainable wood, a roof constructed of an evergreen sedum, natural spring water used for drinking / showers and biomass heating using local wood. 

Dress for dinner...

As the properties are self-catering, food is of the DIY variety, although cooking here feels like a treat.  Natural Retreats fully stocked kitchens are cleverly positioned so that you can carry on socialising throughout.  The GW concierge can arrange for hampers to be delivered ready for your arrival or for a private chef to cook you dinner.  Just let us know in advance by emailing concierge@gorgeousweekend.com

If you feel like heading out for a meal you’re surrounded by some excellent local restaurants and gastro-pubs nearby.  The award winning Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton is just a few miles away, as is the Blue Lion in East Witton – another excellent choice for lunch or dinner.  Richmond itself also has a number of appealing tea-rooms, cafes and restaurants. 

Time for bed...

Each luxury lodge has three bright and spacious en-suite bedrooms, providing spacious sleeping accommodation for up to six adults easily.  The beds are dressed with quality Egyptian cotton and the bathrooms include sumptuous fluffy towels and natural products.  The warm wooden flooring is continued throughout.
