Jollydays is complete fusion of ideas; a deep and genuine love of camping and the great outdoors coupled with a penchant for the finer things in life. The result is a delightfully old fashioned British holiday with more than a hint of glamour.

Set amongst 200 acres of private woodland with glorious Yorkshire countryside beyond, the location of the campsite feels truly magical. The old adage of something for everyone is completely true here; the kids can delight in the traditional joys of the woods [no games consoles here just hearty wholesome fun with rope swings, dens and the wild wood] whilst the adults can settle down with a good bottle of red and completely relax. Or indeed indulge in cosmopolitan York, less than 20 minutes away.

There are around 20 tents on the site at the moment ranging from the more traditional canvas bell tents up to larger luxury lodge tents and de luxe tents. Each one has been lovingly furnished with a camping-chic theme; all cosy interiors with Cath Kidson prints and vintage knick-knacks. There are also several communal areas on-site lending a real community spirit - pop into the lobby tent for a cup of tea and slice of cake or gather around the campfire for a natter with fellow glampers...

Although perfect for families, it’s also a great option for groups. Hire a few tents and you can get the whole gang together for a weekend of frolics and fun...

Dress for dinner...

You don’t need to worry about remembering the portable stove, every tent comes equipped with its own gas cooking facilities. If you would prefer not to bring your own food Jollydays are happy to provide you with breakfast and supper baskets full of locally sourced produce. These must be ordered before you arrive so please make sure you contact Jollydays in advance.

There are several local pubs and restaurants within easy driving distance and of course a host of fantastic restaurants in York. You’ll also find a lovely farm shop and cafe within walking distance.

Time for bed...

The bell tents sleep up to 4 people on two double futon beds. It’s carpeted with coir matting and has a wood burning stove inside to keep it snug. The shower and toilet facilities for these tents are communal, so if you would prefer not to share opt for a luxury tent.

At 75 square metres the private luxury tents are larger than most hotel suites. The cosy interiors feature a separate living area with wooden floors, rugs and wood burning stoves. The sleeping areas have the wow factor, with four poster beds, and crisp cotton sheets. The indoor shower room and toilet are housed in two pretty white cabins and are inside the tent itself – so no draughty dashes in the middle of the night!
