This brace of luxury self-catering cottages are set in the rolling Howardian Hills in the western reaches of the North York Moors.  Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, the lush pastures and woodlands of the western Moors play host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market towns. 

The Hay Barn and Stables are both barn conversions, and each one has been lovingly refurbished with a comfortable but elegant touch.  Although the decor and furnishings are contemporary, the use of exposed brickwork and wooden beams maintain the charm of the old buildings.  There are little touches inside and out which ensure the cottages year round appeal:  For the summer months the south facing courtyard and gardens feature a hot tub, patio and barbecue area.  With fantastic views across the countryside beyond it’s a gorgeous spot for al fresco frolics.  In the winter months the log burning stove and comfy sofas make for the perfect cosy hideaway.

Dress for dinner...

The cottages have beautiful kitchens and dining areas which make staying in for dinner a delight.  If you do feel like venturing out for eats the Michelin starred Star Inn, around a mile from the cottages, is an absolute must.  You’re also just a few miles from Helmsley.  This gorgeous market town is a real foodies paradise and is packed with up-market delis and fabulous tea-rooms.

Time for bed...

The Hay Barn is the larger of the two properties, with four individually designed bedrooms sleeping up to eight people.  The Stables has two bedrooms sleeping up to four people comfortably. 

All of the bedrooms have a real luxury boutique hotel feel, with quality furnishings and plush fabrics used throughout.  The en-suites are equally fabulous, with roll top baths, power showers and big fluffy towels.
