10 George Street
GW thinks...
Lavishly decorated with a leaning towards the theatrical, this decadent self-catering townhouse offers a boutique hotel experience bang in the centre of York. Forget minimalism, 10 George Street is all about sumptuous fabrics, rich colours and drama...
The lounge has the air of a gentleman’s club with its oak panelling, wooden floors and comfy leather sofas. A beautiful open fire is flanked by deep red walls, indulgent silk drapes and shelves stacked with books and trinkets. A good supply of traditional board games completes the scene for a cosy night in. Contemporary comforts abound too, with a flat screen TV, Freeview and DVD player.
This opulent theme is continued throughout the house, with the bathing areas in particular enjoying the star treatment. The indulgent main bathroom features a French console sink, walk-in shower and huge sunken tub set into the walls of a bookcase.
This is a charming house with a fantastic location; the perfect base for families or groups of friends to enjoy this stunning city.
